On October 21st 2009, Penn Station East Coast Subs opened its newest restaurant in Kalamazoo, MI at 4630 W. Main St., near the West Main intersection with Drake Road.

Penn Station East Coast Subs is an upscale, quick-casual restaurant chain, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio.   The design of the restaurant allows customers to see their sandwiches and wraps being freshly grilled to order, right in front of them.  Besides Penn Station’s famous Hot Grilled Subs, other crave appeal menu items like Hot-grilled Wraps, Sub Salads and Fresh Baked Chocolate Chunk Cookies are also featured.

Owner Tim Welke, a Major League Umpire and resident of Portage, says “Working big league games on the road for the past 27 years, I've eaten in thousands of restaurants and found Penn Station to be one of my favorites. Great, tasty hot subs, fresh cut fries, and fresh squeezed lemonade make for an unforgettable meal."

In addition to its signature Philadelphia Cheesesteak Sub, Penn Station also offers other hot-grilled to order sandwiches and wraps such as Chicken Cordon Bleu; Chicken Teriyaki; Chicken Parmesan; Pizza; Italian; Club; Reuben; Vegetarian and a fresh-grilled Artichoke Sub that is unique to Penn Station.  The menu also features a Chicken Salad Sub Sandwich.  Ten Sub Salads and a Kid’s Meal round out the Penn Station menu.
